Abortion & A Culture of Life

As your next Congressman for Arizona’s 4th Congressional District—representing Mesa, Ahwatukee, Tempe, and Chandler—I am a pastor and a pro-life advocate who believes in fostering a culture of life. The overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, a victory championed by President Trump, returned the issue of abortion to the states under the 10th Amendment. Under the current interpretation of the law, the federal government—including Congress—has no authority to dictate abortion policy. While some in Washington push for federal overreach to impose their views, it is Arizona’s voters, not Congress, who hold the power to shape our state’s laws on this issue.

Abortion & Culture of Life

  1. Support States’ Rights and the 10th Amendment
The Constitution is clear: powers not granted to the federal government belong to the states and the people. I support President Trump’s agenda of letting states decide abortion policy, as Roe’s overturning affirmed. While some seek federal laws to override state autonomy, I’ll uphold the 10th Amendment and oppose any congressional attempt to interfere—keeping this decision where it belongs: with Arizonans.
  2. A Pastor’s Commitment to a Culture of Life
As a pastor, I am deeply pro-life and believe in protecting the unborn, supporting families, and promoting a culture that values every human life. My faith guides me to advocate for policies that strengthen families and provide resources for mothers and children in CD4—without relying on federal mandates. While I can’t legislate abortion from Congress, I’ll always lead by example to foster compassion and support for life.
  3. 2024 Abortion Amendment in Arizona
In November 2024, Arizona voters passed a constitutional amendment concerning abortion, and under the Arizona Voter Protection Act, only voters—not legislators at any level—can change this law through ballot measures. As a federal representative, I would have to respect this state-level decision and the limits of congressional authority in the post-Roe era. For those seeking policy changes, I encourage engagement with state ballot initiatives, where the power truly lies on this issue.
  4. Focus on Federal Issues Within My Scope
Since abortion is no longer a federal issue under current law, I’ll focus on areas where Congress can make a difference—lowering healthcare costs, supporting families, and protecting the vulnerable in Mesa, Ahwatukee, Tempe, and Chandler. I’ll prioritize practical solutions that strengthen our communities within my role.
  5. Encourage a Culture of Life Beyond Legislation
While Congress can’t touch abortion policy, I’ll use my platform to promote adoption, parental support programs, and community resources that help women choose life. In a district as diverse as CD4, we can build a culture of life through voluntary efforts—not federal overreach—ensuring every family has the tools to thrive.

A Conservative Vision for Life and Liberty

I’ll support President Trump’s agenda of states’ rights, respect Arizona’s 2024 amendment, and focus on federal issues that uplift CD4 families—while encouraging ballot measures for those seeking change. Together, we can foster a culture of life in Mesa, Ahwatukee, Tempe, and Chandler that honors our values and respects our constitutional system.
